Electric Field Enhanced Photoluminescence of CdTe Quantum Dots Encapsulated in Poly (N-Isopropylacrylamide) Nano-Spheres

Description: This article shows an electric field dependent collapse of the poly(N-isopropylacramide) nanospheres and employs the electric field dependence as a means to adjust the photoluminescence process of the quantum dots in a hybrid material.

Mental Illness and Youth-Onset Homelessness: A Retrospective Study among Adults Experiencing Homelessness

Description: This article retrospectively evaluating the association between the timing of homelessness onset (youth versus adult) and mental illness as a reason for homelessness among homeless adults living in homeless shelters and/or receiving services from homeless-serving agencies in Texas and Oklahoma. A better understanding of these relationships could inform needs for early interventions and/or better prepare agencies that serve at-risk youth to address precursors to youth homelessness.

Predicting incident cardiovascular disease among African-American adults: A deep learning approach to evaluate social determinants of health in the Jackson heart study

Description: Article describes how the authors' study sought to leverage machine learning approaches to determine whether social determinants of health improve prediction of incident cardiovascular disease (CVD). Participants in the Jackson Heart study with no history of CVD at baseline were followed over a 10-year period to determine first CVD events.
