Changes in Attitudes, Personality, and Effectiveness of Counselor Trainees in Counseling Practicums

Description: The purpose of this study was to compare three different approaches to the counselor practicum—-or campus practicum, an off-campus practicum, and a role-playing practicum—-with regard to the changes in attitudes, personality, and effectiveness of counseling behavior of counselor trainees produced by each type of practicum.

The Effectiveness of Two Different Uses of an Autoinstructional Program to Teach the Use of the Air Force Fiscal Account Structure and Codes

Description: The problem of the study was the effectiveness of three techniques to teach the instructional unit, "The Air Force Fiscal Account Structure and Codes." The techniques compared were (1) lecture-demonstration procedure supplemented with the eclectic programed textbook, (2) autoinstructional procedure using only the eclectic programed textbook, and (3) the conventional lecture-demonstration procedure.

Student Teacher Expectations of the Leadership Role of the Principal

A Comparison of Certain Personality Characteristics of Selected Secondary Students in Special English Classes Who Score High on a Standardized Achievement Test with Those Who Score Low

Description: This study was undertaken to determine what differences are found among personality characteristics of superior students, in special English classes, who score high on a standardized achievement test and superior students in the same classes who score low on this test. A second dimension of the study was to determine whether the same personality characteristics are evident among superior students in these classes at the eighth, tenth and twelfth grade levels.

The Relative Effectiveness of Two Methodologies in High School Senior English in the Development of Composition Skills

Description: The problem with which this research is concerned is a comparison of two methodologies in the teaching of high school senior English with regard to their relative effectiveness in developing certain composition skills believed to be important in college academic success. The two methodologies compared in this study are (1) a traditional approach and (2) an experimental approach consistent with certain recommendations of the National Council of Teachers of English.
