An Exploratory Study of a Self-Rating, Sentence Completion Method for Evaluating Marital Difficulties

Description: The purpose of this study is to explore a possible method of diagnosing marital difficulties. This is an exploratory investigation into the possibility of developing a particular method for marital diagnosis rather than a specific test for such a diagnosis. This method consists of a series of related sentence stems which the subject completes and then rates as to their degree of difficulty.

The Development of a Projective Drawing Technique to Assess Id, Ego and Superego Interaction

Description: The problem of the present study was threefold: 1) to devise a projective drawing analysis technique which would assess the operationally defined psychoanalytic concepts of id, ego, and superego, 2) to devise a preliminary scoring technique, and 3) to investigate the relationship between the drawings and the original clinical scales of the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory.

The Effects of a Parent Program Focused Upon Enhancing Social-Emotional Development of Young Children Through Parent Instruction in Affective-Interpersonal Facilitation

Description: Twenty-seven parents with young children were randomly assigned to an experimental group which underwent an affective skill-building program, or one of two control groups. Pre and postassessments measured levels of communication, discrimination, and child vocalization for each parent. The Relationship between Scholastic Motivation and Psychological Needs

Description: The present study was designed to investigate, in an academic situation, the relation between achievement motivation--a "wish to master" or "desire to do well"--and certain psychological needs by the use of two psychometric instruments. These instruments were the Brown-Holzman Survey of Study Habits and Attitudes (SSHA) and the Edwards Personal Preference Schedule (EPPS).

Relationship of the Content of Dreams to Personal Conflicts

Description: This study will endeavor to substantiate the theory that dreaming serves the function of trying to handle conflicts met by the individual during waking life, but not resolved at the time. In order to do this, several hypotheses will be advanced concerning the different observable content of dreams of two different populations. A relationship will be drawn between this difference in content and the known difference in the types of conflicts common to each of the populations.
