Bacterial Survey of Representative Denton County Wells with Special Reference to Sanitation

Description: This thesis aimed to study the seventy-two representative wells of Denton County and to determine the possibilities of infection with typhoid organism. The sanitary survey and the test for Colon-Aerogenes bacteria show that 55% of the 72 wells studied are unsanitary, 27% are sanitary, and 18% are doubtful.

Description: The purpose of this investigation was first, to make a histological and cytological study of the testis of male frogs, Rana pipiens, and to determine if there were tissue or cellular changes as well as physiological effects caused by fish pituitary-extract injections. Light and Electron Microscope Studies on the Chemotherapeutic Effect of a Combination of Dimethyl Sulfoxide and Hematoxylin on a Transplantable Lymphosarcoma

Description: Investigations concerning the cellular response of tumor tissue to treatment with dimethyl sulfoxide and hematoxylin have not been reported. To establish the response of neoplastic tissue and cells to this combination of agents, this study was undertaken to determine the effects of dimethyl sulfoxide and hematoxylin on a transplantable lymphosarcoma in mice.

Factors Involved in the Antibiotic Sensitivity of Staphylococcus Aureus

Description: It was the purpose of the present investigation to determine if sensitivity to other antibiotics can likewise be affected by subjecting S. aureus to heparin contact. Assimilation of Organic Carbon by Aquatic Actinomycetes

Description: There were two purposes of this investigation: the first was to develop a method for studying spore germination, hyphal growth and mycelial development of the aquatic actinomycetes under the microscope so that the life cycle of this organism could be continuously followed. Description: Nutrient availability, water depth, competition, and soil management effects on cattail (Typha latifolia) growth in wetland systems were examined.
