The Impact of Education on Ticuna Indian Culture: an Historical and Ethnographic Field Study

Description: This composition is based off the poem of the same name by Richard Sale. No particular harmonic plan was envisioned for Parts I, II and IV, because it was necessary for the harmonic scheme to be as fluid as the poetry. Effect of DCPA on Growth, Morphology and Physiology of Foxtail-Millet Seedlings

Description: This investigation is concerned is concerned with how a commercial herbicide, dimethyl 2, 3, 5, 6-tetrachloroterephthalate (DCPA) affects the growth, morphology, and physiology of foxtail millet (Setaria italica (L.) Beav.). The objectives were to examine the nature of morphological changes, to determine what physiological and chemical changes accompanied the morphological alterations and to obtain information about the mechanism by which DCPA is herbicidal.

Description: The lecture recital was given April 23, 1973. A discussion of trends and parallels in Impressionist music and painting included information about specific technical devices and innovations related to and common to the arts of music and painting, as seen in the Miroirs of Ravel. Slides of Impressionist paintings were used as illustrations. The five pieces of the Miroirs were then performed by memory.

Interaction of Various Components of Staphylococcus Aureus

Description: Previous reports have shown that killed cells of S. aureus potentiate the lethal effect of crude staphylococcal alpha toxin for mice. In the present study this synergistic effect has been demonstrated with highly purified preparations of alpha toxin. Time studies indicate that the active principle does not appear to be released until approximately two hours following administration of the whole cells.

Life Cycle and Ecology of the Hydropsychidae (Trichoptera) of the Brazos River, Texas

Description: Populations of all stages of three species of Hydropsychidae, Hydropsyche simulans, Cheumatopsyche campyla, and Cheumatopsyche lasia were sampled fro September, 1971, to August, 1972, on the Brazos River in Palo Pinto County, Texas. Supplemental observations relating to emergence, mating and oviposition, and larvae food habits were continued to July, 1973. The purpose of this study was to elucidate the life cycles and ecology of this Hydropsychidae complex.

Description: Psalm is a composition for symphony orchestra. The duration is from twelve to fifteen minutes. The form is sonata-allegro. Tonal organization is twelve-tone, although melodic development is by traditional methods rather than by row technique. Tempo modulation has replaced the traditional tonal modulation of sonata form. A Study of Transient Molecular Ions Using a Resonant Microwave Cavity as a Probe

Description: The microwave-resonant-cavity technique was employes as a probe to determine the presence of molecular ions of helium in a d.c.-discharge, helium-plasma filament placed coaxially in a TM010 mode cavity. The cavity-resonance profile was displayed on an oscilloscope, and the nature of the perturbation of this resonance was used to determine the nature of the ions present in the plasma stream.
