Description: Hat of black sequins over net/lace. Styled as a modified pillbox or beret, the hat has a circular low, flattened crown and no brim. The base is of black lace/net, totally covered with massed black sequins. At sides are small diamond-shaped sections that extend down to either side of wearer's head. Hat is unlined, with black grosgrain ribbon inner hatband. Label inside: "Sequins Styled / and / Imported / from France".

Description: Hat of navy felt. Somewhat like a cloche in style, the had has a low, rounded crown, with narrow turned-up brim at front. At right side are two fans or "conch shaped" decorations of navy grosgrain ribbon. The hat is overlaid at front with a navy veil. Inner navy grosgrain ribbon hatband. Accompanied by a plain black-headed hatpin. Designer's label sewn to inner hatband: "Hazel Eller - Custom Made"

Description: Hat of black velvet. Soft cylindrical crown has a flattened top, and is encircled at base by a band of black grosgrain ribbon, tied into a bow at side and with trailing ends. Almost circular brim is split at right side, curves down somewhat, and is enhanced by concentric rows of top-stiching. The underside of the brim is lined in white. Designer's label: "Betmar"

Description: Hat of natural straw. The high, cylindrical crown is slightly domed, and is encircled by two wide bands of pale yellow grosgrain ribbon. The brim is off-center, wider at front, and turns up sharply at edge. The brim is edged with same ribbon as encircles the crown. The hat is unlined, with a band of pale yellow grosgrain ribbon inside base of crown as inner hatband. Maker's label sewn to inner hatband: "Cedar Crest / Original"

Description: Hat of ornate braid/trim. Styled somewhat as a calotte (also spelled "calot"), the domed crown is formed of a coiled spiral of an ornate braid of strands of strung golden and silver sequins, and wired chenille. Embellished at side by a large plume of gold-painted(?)/gilt feathers No labels.

Description: Hat of red straw. The domed crown is of woven red straw which appears as a finely woven thin straw ground with a secondary wider red straw woven throughout forming an "overpattern". The wide brim turns up deeply, forming a bowl around the crown. The upper part of the brim, which faces the crown, shows the finely woven pattern, while the underside of the brim, which faces outwards, has the same secondary wider straw patterning. Hat

Description: Hat of off-white straw. The domed crown is composed of flattened tiers to form a beret-like layer effect. The lower edge is trimmed in an off-white fabric, which repeats as a band of tubular ribbon and fan-comb at one side. The crown is unlined, with an inner hatband of off-white grosgrain ribbon. Two small plastic combs are attached to the inner hatband to secure the hat to wearer's head.

The domed crown is constructed with the the outline of a rounded square, with attached stiffened double-brim, which turns up on all sides, forming a point at front and at sides, but rounded in back. At the back of the hat the brim extends downwards, forming a point. The hat is unlined, and edged with a black grosgrain ribbon inner hatband.
