Cocktail ensemble of golden orange silk.

Cocktail hat of draped brown silk. The hat, reminiscent of a turban, is a soft crown construction, gathered into horizontal folds at front with a rhinestone set clip shaped as an "8", one "s" curve set with rectangular stones, the other with three rows of circular stones. Interior lined in brown mesh, with inner black grosgrain ribbon hatband. At front of inner hatband is attached small comb to help secure hat to wearer's head. Accompanied by a small hatpin, the head covered with same fabric.

Cocktail hat of black velvet. The hat has a high, cylindrical crown with flattened top, and a wide brim which curves downwards. Around the base of the crown is tied a wide piece of black net veiling tied to a bow at back. The veiling "pools" on the sides and front of the brim and extends down to cover wearer's face. The brim is lined with the same velvet. Crown is lined in black satin with an inner black grosgrain ribbon headband. Designer's label: "Givenchy / Paris" / "Made in / France"

Dress of wool in vertical stripes in varying widths of black and teal with horizontal white stripe.

Top of black cotton. V neckline in front with ruched keyhole at base in rounded yoke sweeps across the top of both sleeves on front and back. At base of yoke on center back there is a circul ruched keyhole that ties at the top; the back is open from the top of this hole to hook-and-eye closure at center of rounded back neckline. Portion beneath yoke on both sides is thin ribbed knit. No lining.

Petticoat of white cotton batiste. Fitted at waist and bell shaped/flaired below knees ; slightly trained in back. Fine insertion lace in 2-1/2" waves for ribbon insertion. Many rows of narrow inserted lace, 4" band of white embroidery in leaf motif and lace edged hem.

Inner silk lining layer with low squared neckline and sleeveless, which is worn to pull up the lower part of the dress, causing the bodice to "blouse". Bodice lined in off-white polished cotton.
