Designer's label at inside right hem of opening: "Christian Dior - New York, Inc." Retailer's label at center back neckline: "Neiman-Marcus" Union label under right armhole. b) Under dress. Short sleeves with gussets. Jewel neckline. Slightly gathered, dropped waistline. Below knee length. Center back zipper with hook & eye. Lined in matching silk. Description: Day dress with pink linen bodice and netted lace pink and green skirt in floral motif. Peter pan collar. Center front opening of six self-covered buttons, 2 snaps at neckline and 1 hook & eye where skirt and bodice meet; bound buttonholes. Three snap closure on center front of skirt. Four pleats on either side of opening of bodice. Long sleeves with 2 1/4" french cuffs with two self-covered buttons and bound buttonholes. Skirt lined in pink organdy; bodice lined in pink synthetic; under arm pads. Designer's label at center back neckline: "Chuck Howard" Retailer's label below designer label: "Silver Key / Neiman Marcus" With accompanying belt of olive green linen backed in leather. 2" wide and 34 1/2" long. Square buckle of self fabric. Three holes for sizing. Stamped: "14 925"

Description: Shoes of black suede. Heeled shoes designed as a variation between pumps and sandals, with rounded toe and low vamp/sides/heel with crossing straps at vamp. From heel a band extends upwards, splits, and becomes strap to wrap around ankle, which fastens with small buckle. 3 1/8" high modified continental heel covered with same suede. Retailer's stamp in left shoe: "Neiman-Marcus Co / Dallas" Designer's stamp in right shoe: "L. Miller / Beautiful Shoes" Handwritten notation inside shoes: "7AA-4S2 14- 778 983419"

The flattened top of the low, cylindrical crown is composed of four triangular panels, each of which has parallel lines of top stitching which join to create a pyramidal effect. The sides of the crown have similar top stitching running in horizontal parallel lines. The hat is lined in black, with gray grosgrain ribbon inner hatband. A handsewn designer's (?) label is inside: "Inez".

Description: Hat of gray felt, burgundy velour, and black sequins. The hat is styled as a calotte (also spelled "calot"), formed of a base of stiffened gray felt, overlaid with a layer of burgundy velour. The domed crown extends further down on right side than left, curling out at rim. The crown is covered in black sequins, with an edge of the velour showing slightly at front and back, more at right side. The hat is unlined, with inner hatband of brown grosgrain ribbon inside base of crown. A small stitch in the inner hatband indicates the front of the hat. Designer's label sewn to inner hatband: "Irene / New York". Retailer's label sewn to inner hatband: "Neiman-Marcus / Dallas"

Description: Day dress of blue silk shantung with black flecks and black linen embellishment. A) Dress - Street length, with high rounded neckline, and 3/4 or longer sleeves. Neckline with three concentric bands/borders, each with a button making them look as if they should unbutton. Outer and inner bands of the blue/black shantung, inner band of black linen. Buttons of each band are same fabric as that band. A-lline skirt with "pleated placket" at front. Narrow blue/black thread belt loops at sides. Center back zipper, with hook and thread loop at top of collar. Unlined. Combined designer/retailer label in lower part of skirt: "Irene / Exclusively for / Neiman-Marcus" B) Belt. Narrow leather curving belt faced with the blue/black silk shantung, with large rectangular covered buckle. Stamped on reverse: "10 9524"

Description: Suit of beige linen with bands of beige silk embroidered fan-shapes. Suit consists of: A) Jacket. Waist-length or slightly longer, single-breasted, with 5 self-covered and embroidered conical buttons and bound button holes. Long sleeves with turned-back cuffs secured at openings. Bust darts for fitting. Collar and lapels with bands of same embroidery as rest of suit. Single pocket above left breast, with bound buttonhole style opening, and smaller bound buttonhole style opening horizontally above main opening. Lined in beige silk. Torso of jacket with three horizontal bands of beige embroidered bands of fan shapes, sleeves with two bands, and then with cuffs covered with the embroidery. Combined designer's/retailer's label at inside back neckline: "Irene / Exclusively for / Neiman-Marcus / Dallas" B) Skirt. Street-length, straight skirt with slight darts around waist for fitting. 1 1/8" wide waistband, with inner beige grosgrain petersham. Waistband and petersham with hook-and-eye closures over left side zipper. Skirt has 4 wide bands of embroidery, each band consisting of rows of beige fan-shapes. Unlined. No labels in skirt.

Description: Hat of sienna / brown velvet. The cylindrical brown velvet crown is slightly flattened at top, creating a fold around the upper edge of crown. The top is basically flat, slightly dished from sagging of the fabric. The brim, of the same velvet, is of oval shape set off-center, much larger in front than sides or back. The brim turns up sharply on all sides, almost touching the crown on all edges. The facing surface of the brim is covered with applied velvet autumn leaves of greens, yellows, and browns. Hat is lined in black fabric. Designer's(?) label sewn into inside of crown: "Paris / Jaccard / New York".

Description: Cloche of black velour. The domed crown is of "crumpled" black velour encircled at the base by a band of silver ribbon. The narrow brim is curled up at the edge and sides, and is lined with a multicolored brocade with metallic threads as accents. On right side of hat, near base of crown, is a large pompom of black feathers. Set near the pompom is a pin of black composition/plastic and silvered metal in the form of a hook (partly missing?). The crown of the hat is lined with greyish silk embroidered in gold.
