Ensemble - Cape, Blouse, and Dress

Description: Ensemble. A) Cape of black and white windowpane check wool. Double-breasted with 8 plastic round domed buttons and 4 bound buttonholes. Armhole slits are double welted with pockets. Notched collar. Lined in ivory silk. B) Blouse of black silk noil. Short, triple-seamed raglan sleeves. Paneled front. Two off-angle welted breast pockets. Center back zipper with hook & eye. Center front placket, rounded at bottom, with hidden zipper and hook & loop. Slit sides. Lined in black silk. C) Dress. Upper portion is black top silk lining for blouse. Sleeveless with wide, rounded neckline. Center back zipper with hook & eye extends to skirt portion of dress. Lower skirt portion is A-lined, attached at high waist and is of matching black and white windowpane check. Black grosgrain ribbon petersham with hook & eye. Lined in ivory silk. No labels in garment.

Description: Woman's uchikake kimono of off-white damask silk with background pattern of stylized cranes in diamond frames. The full-length kimono has long sleeves, and is embellished with gold and silver couched embroidery throughout of large leaf forms on upper part of garment, and of geometric shapes on lower part. The kimono has a rolled and padded hem, which reveals the red silk lining.

Combined retailer/designer label at left side seam of skirt: "Neiman-Marcus Dallas / Traina-Norell B) Tie/scarf of same fabric. One end wider than other, finishing in triangles. Narrow at center.

Description: Coat of pale yellow whipcord wool. Jewel neckline with 1-3/4" mandarin collar. Long, set-in sleeves. Single breasted with two large 1-1/2" smooth, circular black buttons above and 2 buttons below waistline. 3-1/2" wide matching, attached belt with matching black button. Bound buttonholes on coat and belt. Seven inch wide black dyed fox fur trimmed hemline. Vertical, single-welt pockets at each side. Lined in white silk satin. Designer's label at inside back collar: "Norman Norell / New York"

Description: Red silk taffeta dress with print of white line/dashes. A) Cocktail dress of red silk taffeta print. The print is of short white lines/dashes, scattered over the entire garment. Short sleeves, collar with rounded "points". Dropped waist, with a wide panel of same fabric with vertical stitching between bodice and skirt. "Tiered" skirt, with a flounce of same material gathered at bottom of dropped waist and continuing to about knee-level. Skirt gathered at dropped waist, under the flounce. Center front opening with 5 small circular self-covered buttons. Zipper at left side from under arm to dropped waist. Unlined. Inner ivory grosgrain belt/petersham with single hook and eye at left side. Seam where flounce joins skirt reinforced on interior with horsehair band. Combined designer's/retailer's label sewn in skirt: "Neiman-Marcus Dallas / Traina-Norell" B) Thin belt of cream leather covered in matching fabric. Rectangular buckle covered in same fabric. No marks on belt.

Description: Cocktail dress of black faille and white linen with jacket and belt. A) Bolero style jacket in black silk faille. Center front opening with four small black circular buttons and bound buttonholes. Short, set-in sleeves trimmed with three matching buttons on tops of sleeves with bound buttonholes. Small welt pockets at sides. Jacket and sleeves lined in white silk satin. Combined designer/retailer label at center back neckline: "Neiman-Marcus Dallas / Traina-Norell" B) Dress of black silk faille. Set-in waistline with upper bodice of white linen. Linen bodice is sleeveless and has center front opening with five white circular plastic buttons and bound buttonholes. Banded collar extends to form bow tie ends. Mid-calf length skirt is full and formed by 10 panels. Left side zipper under arm hole. Black grosgrain ribbon petersham at natural waist with single hook & eye closure. Set-in waist section supported by metal boning. Lined in black silk in lower portion of skirt. Entire skirt section lined in heather brown woolen fabric to stiffen skirt. C) Narrow belt covered in black silk faille. Rectangular self covered buckle.

Description: Cocktail suit of tomato red velvet with mink trimmed collar and cuffs. A) Jacket of red velvet. Elbow length sleeves trimmed with mink at cuffs. Standing collar with mink trim. Center front opening. Two large patch pockets at side seams. Lined in red silk crepe. Combined designer/retailer label at center back neckline: "Bonwit Teller New York / Traina-Norell" B) Skirt of red velvet. Street length, straight with two patch pockets at sides. 1" waistband with center back closure of four self covered buttons and bound buttonholes. Unlined. C) Blouse of brown satin. Notched collar with exaggerated point. Center front opening with one self covered button imitating a cufflink at bust line and snap near hem. Long sleeves with French cuffs and slit. Bound buttonholes with buttons or cufflinks missing.
