Description: Woman's uchikake kimono of off-white damask silk with background pattern of stylized cranes in diamond frames. The full-length kimono has long sleeves, and is embellished with gold and silver couched embroidery throughout of large leaf forms on upper part of garment, and of geometric shapes on lower part. The kimono has a rolled and padded hem, which reveals the red silk lining.

Single breasted with two large 1-1/2" smooth, circular black buttons above and 2 buttons below waistline. 3-1/2" wide matching, attached belt with matching black button. Bound buttonholes on coat and belt. Seven inch wide black dyed fox fur trimmed hemline. Vertical, single-welt pockets at each side. Lined in white silk satin. Designer's label at inside back collar: "Norman Norell / New York"

Description: Daytime coat dress. a) Coat dress of red/orange gaberdine wool. Single breasted with 7 mother-of-pearl buttons in circular gold-tone mounts with bound buttonholes. Above knee length. Jewel neckline. Neckline and right side of opening are of navy gaberdine wool. Long, set in sleeves having cuffs of navy gaberdine wool with two smaller matching buttons and bound buttonholes. Two large patch pockets at left and right are also trimmed with matching navy bands across tops of pockets. Lined in red silk crepe. Designer's label at center back neckline: "Norell" Retailer's label at inside left seam: "Rich's / Specialty Shop" b) Webbed belt of matching navy gaberdine wool. Three inches wide with rectangular self covered buckle. Reverse of buckle frame stamped "Astor".

Description: Two-piece suit of dark orange knit. A) Jacket of dark orange wool gaberdine. Double-breasted with princess seaming and a large cape collar. The full-length straight sleeves each have three circular black buttons and bound buttonholes. The opening at front has two vertical rows of 4 black circular buttons and a hidden snap closure at upper right. Attached to the jacket are four black patent leather belt carriers to support the accompanying thin black patent leather belt. Fully lined in black silk satin fabric. Designer's label at inside at back collar: "Norell" B) Skirt of dark orange wool gaberdine. Knee length with a 2" wide waistband into which the skirt gathers. Two slit pockets at side seams, one of which conceals zipper closure and line of snaps and hooks-and-eyes. Fully lined in orange/red fabric. Care label sewn below waistband at inside front: "Do Not Use / Steam Iron" C) Belt of black patent leather. 1/2" wide with rectangular self covered buckle. Reverse stamped: "Charming / Belts"

Rectangular slide buckle covered in self. Attached at back of dress.

Below knee length. Shallow, wide rounded bateau neckline slightly lower in back. Center back closure of three self-covered buttons with snap and bound buttonholes cut on a slant. Zippers at left and right with hook & eyes. Lined in matching turquoise blue silk. Combined designer/retailer label on inside lining at right seam near hem: "Norman Norell for Neiman-Marcus" b) Camisole of white silk satin with turquoise blue linen side panels. Description: Shift day dress of oatmeal crochet knit wool. The mid-length dress is of a seed-stitch knit with Peter Pan collar and short sleeves. The collar, upper lapel edge and sleeves are finished with a single stitch crochet binding/edging. Double-breasted with ten self-covered circular buttons arranged in two vertical rows of five each. Dress opens along left vertical row with a single snap and a single small hidden button and loop to secure upper left of panel under collar. Unlined. Black band inside lower hem. Designer's label inside at back near collar: "Norman Norell / New York". Union label inside at hem, partly hidden by hem: 625687.

Slight A-line with 1 inch, tan grosgrain ribbon waistband. Left side zipper with adjustable hook & bar at waistband. Lined in ivory silk crepe.
