- Mushroom Hat
Hat of black felt. Resembling the cap of a mushroom, the hat consists of a wide, low, soft crown that extends out as a brim would. The underside of the "cap" is of the same material, and the whole is set on a short cylindrical "stalk" which fits on the wearer's head. Inner part of hat is unlined, with an inner black grosgrain ribbon hatband. Hat of dark beige and cream felt. Designed as a modified Breton hat, the low, domed crown of dark beige felt is encircled by a cream velvet tube through which are strung four large dark beige braided flower-head forms. The circular brim is turned up, forming a "wall" around the crown. The brim is overlaid with a narrow band of black lace net veiling, with scattered "fuzzies" on some of the intersections. - Bridge Hat
Bridge hat of navy blue straw. The cylindrical crown has a domed top section, and is encircled at the base by a wide band of off-white grosgrain ribbon, with two self bows at front left and right. On front section of the band are applied three applique "club" shapes of navy blue and off-white. A fourth applique is set on the front of the brim. The brim is a four-lobed quatrafoil, emulating a club shape, the back lobe truncated somewhat. The outer edge of the brim is rolled under. Underside of brim lined with off-white grosgrain fabric, inside of crown lined with black fabric, and with an inner off-white grosgrain ribbon hatband.

The domed crown is encircled by a "cloud" of peach and yellow gold ostrich feathers, which almost totally cover the narrow brim, which is edged in a pale ocher band. Hat of woven orange balibuntl straw. Designed as a "mod" interpretation of a cloche, to be worn high on the head. The high, slightly domed crown flares out slightly at bottom to form the brim. The brim is split, with front section sloping downwards, and the back section upturned. Around the base of the crown is a wide navy blue plastic ribbon. Crown is lined in orange silk(?), and has an orange grosgrain inner hatband.

Hat of light beige fabric embellished with top-stitching. The high, cylindrical crown has a rounded edge, and has top-stitching in parallel rows arranged in panels, forming a "patchwork" pattern. The crown is encircled at the base by a wide folded band of beige fabric with bow at back. Wide brim slopes downwards, and has concentric rings of top-stitching. The crown is lined with cream fabric printed in dark golden yellow with "Mr. John" logo in script over entire field. The hat has an inner black grosgrain ribbon hatband, and a second under layer band of off-white lace.

- Breton Hat
Breton hat of navy blue woven straw. The high, domed crown is surrounded by the circular brim which extends out and curves up sharply, creating a wall around the crown. Hat is unlined, with inner dark blue grosgrain ribbon hatband.

Hat of dark taupe velvet and artificial flowers. Built on a framework of velvet covered wire and stiffened lace, the hat is styled somewhat as a calotte (also spelled "calot"), with domed crown and shaped front edge. The front, right side, and part of the back are covered with a mass of small artificial flowers (violets?) and leaves of various colors of plush. The rest of the sides and top of the crown are covered in the dark taupe velvet, in folds and drapes suggesting a turban. Hat is unlined, allowing stiffened lace/mesh under-structure to be seen.

Hat of tightly coiled, finely braided metallic gold straw. The low domed crown is inset at top, and surrounded by a wreath of artificial flowers with green leaves and metallic gold 4-petal blossoms with pearl centers. From below the wreath extends light brown net veil. Narrow circular brim, rolled under and back to form its own lining/facing. Evening gown of tobacco brown floral embroidered tulle embellished with sequins. Tulip or "mermaid" style full-length gown has spaghetti straps trimmed in single row of sequins and structured bodice. Empire waist. Center back zipper. Silk lining/attached slip. Cream grosgrain ribbon petersham at empire waist with two hook & eye closures. Stiffened at hem with matching tulle netting and horizontal bands of horsehair.

A) Fitted jacket of chocolate wool in woven, checked pattern. Single breasted with 5 self covered buttons and bound buttonholes. Notched collar of brown velvet with self fabric lapels. Long sleeved with turn-up cuff of brown velvet and two small self covered buttons and bound buttonholes on each sleeve. Lined in brown taffeta.

Dress of light weight black wool crepe in shift style. High round neck; sleeveless. Street length. Center front opening to hem with 8 large round buttons of heavy silk threads. Slight fullness achieved by gathering from shoulder yoke. Unlined except at yoke.

Large, Puritan collar and cuffs of white, stiffened organdy. Calf length. Center front opening with eight 3/4" circular, black plastic buttons with bound buttonholes and snap at neckline. Bow of self at collar. Unlined.
