Flight Tests to Determine the Drag of Fin-Stabilized Parabolic Bodies at Transonic and Supersonic Speeds

Description: Report presenting testing on parabolic bodies of revolution of two fineness ratios in the transonic and supersonic range. One had a body fineness ratio of 7.87 and one had a ratio of 12 and were tested under different Mach number ranges. Knock-Limited Performance of Blends of AN-F-28 Fuel Containing 2 Percent Aromatic Amines 4

Description: Report discussing tests on the effect of 2-percent additions of 13 aromatic amines on the knock-limited performance of 28-R fuel in a CFR engine. HRP Radiation Corrosion Studies

Description: A fifth in-pile loop experiment, L-4-8, was completed. The loop operated in-pile for a total of 1637 hr, during which time the LITR energy output was 4377 Mwhr. The average fission power in the loop based o cesium analyses was 622 w when the LITR was at full power (3 Mw). Preliminary Analog Computer Study of the Small EGCR In-Pile Loops

Description: The ORNL analog computer was used to simulate four widely different experiment conditions in the small EGCR in-pile loops. Various control and safety systems were evaluated in each case. Curves are included which show the response to postulated accidents and component failures. The results indicate that one standard control and safety system will probably be adequate for a wide variety of test conditions.

High-Speed Load Distribution on the Wing of a 3/16-Scale Model of a Scout-Bomber Airplane with Flaps Deflected

Description: "The tests reported herein were made for the purpose of determining the high-speed load distribution on the wing of a 3/16 scale model of a scout-bomber airplane. Comparisons are made between the root bending-moment and section torsional-moment coefficients as obtained experimentally and derived analytically. Investigation of High-Performance Fuels in Multicylinder and in Single-Cylinder Engines at High and Cruising Engine Speeds

Description: "An investigation was conducted to compare the knock-limited performance of a 20-percent triptane blend in 28-K fuel with that of 28-R and 33-R fuels at high engine speeds, cruising speeds, and two compression ratios in an K-1830-94 multicylinder engine. Data were obtained with the standard compression ratio of 6.7 and with a compression ratio of 3.0. The three fuels were investigated at engine speeds of 1800, 2250, 2600, and 2800 rpm at high and low blower ratios" (p. 1).

Description: "The lifting-surface sidewash behind rolling triangular wings has been derived for a range of supersonic Mach numbers for which the wing leading edges remain swept behind the mark cone emanating from the wing apex.
