Description: Peru held the first round of national presidential and parliamentary elections on April 9, 2006. No presidential candidate won over 50%, so a run-off election is necessary. Palestinian Elections

Description: Fair and transparent elections are seen by experts and policymakers as a necessary step in Palestinian democratization and for the peace process.
