Program Council
is a group of North
Texas State University stu-
dents who volunteer their
time and talent to present
entertaining and education-
al programs for the NTSU
community. UPC is made
up of eight committees;
cinema, concert, lectures-
/fine arts, outdoor recrea-
tion, promotions, Rock
Bottom Lounge, special
events, and travel. During
the year, UPC worked
hard to present new and
interesting activities for the
students. Black Emphasis
Month was held in Febru-
ary and offered students a
Career Opportunity Day
and an Arts Exposition Stu-dent Competition.
Throughout the month,
UPC hosted many other
activities which included a
Martin Luther King
Brunch, a Valentines
Cookie Sale, a Valentines
Day Dance, and a Black
Emphasis Month Heritage
Ball. A Gospel Concert
was hosted by UPC as well
as a Cross County Ski Trip
in Keystone, Colorado. In
April, UPC and RHA orga-
nized a giant, all-campus
event called "Starburst."
A Fun Run and a booth
where students could get
computer portraits were
some of the activities going
on as well as a Battle of the
Bands Contest.200/Organizations
