Dr. Kenneth Cuthbert, who served
as dean of the School of Music for 26
years, planned to retire this year to
return to full-time teaching.
Anshel Brusilow, former Dallas Sym-
phony Orchestra conductor, joined the
school as conductor of the orchestra.
Brusilow, who was invited to return for
the 1974-75 school year, was the first
NTSU symphony conductor to "comeout of professional, rather than aca-
demic, circles," according to Dr. Cuth-
bert.
Another new faculty member, Rob-
ert Davidovici, accepted the position
of resident violinist and, Dr. Cuthbert
said, "added a new dimension to the
string program."William Gardner gave pointers on composition to students in his
advanced harmony class (above left). Under the guidance of Mau-
rice McAdow, Denton senior Sylvia Adamsko conducted the Min-
erva Overture by de Rubertis (above right). Studying "bass-ic"
transposition was part of a course in orchestration (immediately
