Library Serves Many Needs, For Most
Although one student recently
boasted, or confessed, to a professor
that he had received a degree from
North Texas without entering the
Library except for Registration,
others find the Library a quiet
study place, a mandatory reference
center or at least a meeting spot.
This year as the semester was on
its last Sunday, students found the
building open for more weekend
studying or gabfests.
One new acquisition this year was
the personal library of the late Dr.
Isaac Lloyd Hibberd, musicology
professor here for 20 years. Exceed-
ing 9,000 volumes, the collection is
strongest in volumes of or on music,
but also contains works on litera-
ture, theater, art, biography and
history of western civilization.
