b. The librarian should assist in carrying out the off-duty
education program of the Army by(1)
Bringing to the attention of troops published information
relating to available courses of instruction. Such information
is on file in the library of a Special Service Company.
(2) Giving information relative to courses and ways of enrolling
in them when such information is requested by the
individual soldier.
(3) Making application forms available to the soldier. When
these are not available in printed form, the librarian should
use the publishing facilities of the company to prepare application
forms.
(4) Cooperating and consulting with the education officer
of the area if available with a view to developing an appropriate
off-duty educational program for the troops within
the area.40
