Headphones for conductor
Click track from computer audio - 1 Input on console - , Headphones
**NOTE: use whatever method is available that enables the greatest control of the amplitude of the click track to be
adjusted on the console, without routing the signal to the speaker system.
Microphones and Outboard Effects processing
The use of microphones for balance with the electronics will depend on the performance hall, and may or may not be
necessary. However, they will be necessary for the addition of reverberation in the second section of the piece. Therefore the
following signal should be used to offer the greatest control over the mix of the processed signal and the dry signal. The
microphone placement should utilize a "close mic'ing" technique, one for each of the woodwind instruments, one to two for
each of the pitched percussion instruments, and several overhead microphones for the percussion ensemble.
Microphone - Console
AUX Send - Effects Processor - Console Input Channel (stereo)
**NOTE: set the aux send from the microphone channels to "pre-fader," this will allow the greatest control over the dry
and wet signals. The output from the effects processor should be set to 100% wet. Sending the processed signal
back into a stereo channel instead of using the aux return will allow greater control, and allow routing of the
signal to specific output busses.63
