A Quarterly Publication of the Miniature Book Society, Inc.
New Series, Number 18 ISSN 0894-5489 July, 1993"As for the question: 'Why Collect Miniature Books? They
are too small to read,' surely there are a good many whys in
this world to which it would be difficult to give a convincing
answer - even if one is needed.
"Miniature books charm the eye and fancy because they
are miniature. So also with books of the gigantic order. If
there were double-double-folios, whatever the right name
for them may be, I would gladly have one specimen, if only
for Lemuel Gulliver's sake. But it would be of minus use for
reading in bed.
"As for the plea that miniature books are worthless because
one can't read them, a less irrational complaint would be that
many common-sized books are worthless because one can."
