far the Ma# of the typewriter*. The school should provide
all necessary equipment ia the teaching of any subject.
Since many of the graduates, as revealed by the findings
of this study, have found a definite need for training in filing
and selling, these courses should be introduced into the high
school curriculum. If it is not feasible to do so, it is re-
commended by the writer that the knowledge and practice of
these techniques be incoroprated into other courses now offered
in the business department.
Business law and business mathematics rank high in the
list of subjects which students feel would have been helpful.
It is suggested that these courses now offered in the high
school be made into full one year courses and made a part of
the business department and taught by a business teacher in
the Gainesville High School.
By the finding* of this study, it is evident that the city
of Gainesville is losing a large percentage of its potential
citizens by the lack of vocational opportunities for the many
graduates. A number of these people suggested on their question-
naires that the Gainesville Chamber of Commerce should bring
into the city as many business concerns as possible which
would provide larger and better payrolls.
