STANLEY YATES was born in Preston, Lancashire, England, and
studied music in Liverpool, obtaining his Graduate Degree from
Sandown College of Performing Arts with the highest pass mark in
the history of the college, and his Masters Degree from the University
of Liverpool where he held the Wethered Music Research
Scholarship. He received the Myra Hess National Award for Young
Performers in 1986, was a prize winner in the Volos International
Competition for Guitar in Greece in 1985 and the GFA International
Competition for Guitar in 1990, and has performed in England,
Holland, Belgium, Greece, and the United States.
