About the cover design...
The "Tree of Knowledge" is em-
bodied by some 30 Golden Rain trees
on the North Texas State University
campus. The plantings descend from
a single seedling brought back from
New Harmony, Ind., in the late 1920s
by a music faculty and planted by
NTSU President Robert L. Marquis, a
botanist.
Also known as the Chinese Gate
Tree, two plantings of the tree flank
the entrance of the Administration Build-
ing and twin rows are planted in the
Library Mall.a S
