  • Content Description: It is the purpose of this study to make the following investigations: (1) to trace briefly the historical background of equalization in the United States; (2) to present briefly a cross-section of the plans of equalization used by representative states in the United States; (3) to analyze the principal legal provisions of the equalization laws of Texas for the purpose of showing the growth and development of the State's equalization policy; and (4) to present a summary, to draw conclusions, and to make certain recommendations in the light of the information derived from the study.
