the test period and Figaro 2 gives the growth response
of the females during the test period. A ooB#&riso& of
these figores shows the"difference in the growth in-
ereaest of the males f emslss.. Individual varia-
tions are evident in the growth curve# but the tea#-*
ency is an upward trend. The average total weight at-
tained by all males in the study was one hundred
fearteen gra&s while that of all fe^le# was one hundred
eight graas,, & different# of six gpans^. Th# aniaals
that averaged the greatest gain per day have the highest
growth curve. These rats receiving the eream cowpoa
supplement were next in the rate of growth. The a.nl-
iTals receiving the blackeye and the red and white
crowder cowpea supplement show variations la daily
gains but the final average gain in weight varied, only
seven tenths of a gram. The animal shewing the lowest
growth response received the brown crowder cowpea
supplement,
Table 1 show# a comparison of the gain in weight
aade by animals fed the four varieties of eowpeas for
forty days. The average gain in grams par day for
aninals fed ereaa eowpea supplement was one and five—
