Note presenting the differential equations and boundary conditions appropriate to the analysis of torsional vibrations of hollow thin-walled cylindrical beams. The results indicate that the numerical calculations show that elementary theory is adequate for the analysis of torsional vibrations of box beams with high or medium plan-form aspect ratios.
