Hunter, Dard
Dard Hunter (born William Joseph Hunter) (November 29, 1883-February 20, 1966) Papermaker, printer, teacher, author, and maker of fine books. Hunter was active in the Arts and Crafts movement, and worked for the Roycrofters, Elbert Hubbard's workshop/colony. In 1912, Hunter built a papermill in New York, and was one of the few hand-made papermakers in the United States at that time. Not only one of the finest papermakers in the world, Hunter was also a prolific writer and scholar, and wrote numerous books in papermaking. |
