From the data compiled in Table 8, it is seen that
20 pupils in section T gained 26.0 grade years more than
their respective matches in section N. At the same time,
15 pupils in section N gained 11.4 grade years more than
their respective matches in section T.
Section T shows a net class gain of 30.0 grade years
gained as compared with 17.7 grade years gained by section
N. The amount of gain is above normal. In comparing the
geography ratios, 'kT iS t, it appears that section T
has a 74.9 per cent higher geography ratio than does
section N. This striking difference in favor of section
T might be attributed to a greater amount of specific
class work and drill employed by the traditional section.
Arithmetico
Fram the data collected in Table 9, it appears that
19 pupils in seootion T gained 21.5 grade years more than
their respetive matehs in section N as compared with
7.0 grate year gained by 13 pupils in section N over
their respective matches in section T. Three of the
maCthes were tied for gain.
Section T showed a net class gain of 12.2 grade
years in arithmetic, while section N showed a (-) 2.5
