Dear Jerry:
Please forgive the delay in conveying to you our
sincere thanksu for a tremendous article concerning
our band's first Scott Theater appearance!
Our boys here are most critical of everything,
especially the writer who seems to want to be "in"
so badly that anything having to do with jazz is
treated with the slang and jargon which has hurt
jazz in the byes of so many people we feel. Your
article was really the best I have ever seen concerning
a jazz performance - it was honest, forthright, and
showed a keen insight into what we were really trying
to do!
We thank you very much and just wanted to send
this letter so that you would know how we feel
Sincerely yours,
Leon Breeden, Director
