heard plenty of recitals of classical music, after
which he has been tempted to do the same thing.
More seriously, though - and it is surprising
that Mr. Hurok should have to be reminded of this
- music cannot be classified as good or bad be-
cause of its origin, style, period, or even composer.
The greatest of the classical composers wrote
many coml)ositions which are not l)layed( any
longer. There is a great deal of modern jazz which
will be played for many years to come.
In the final analysis, music is nothing until it
is performed. Before that it is nothing but notes
on a sheet of paper. After it is performed it be-(4) hours shall prevail at all times.
(d) Shows shall be $6.00 extra
on all non-continuous jobs.

together on what it has to say, and on how well
it is said for the composer by the performer.
Whether the music is long hair or jazz. mode-rn
