Also enclosed for you is a Conclave Registration Form. Please return
it to Father Curran as soon as possible so that he can finalize arrangements
for meeting room space, exhibitor tables, number of people to be served
and so forth. Please indicate your special subject interests for either
group meetings or evening presentations as well as any special needs you
might have. If you wish, you may enclose your $40.00 registration fee
as well as the cost of an exhibitor's table should you want one, or
wait until you check in at the Marriott.
Last year, one of the most frequent complaints was that there was
not enough time allotted to the Miniature Book Fair. This year, we
have set aside an entire day, Sunday July 1st, for the Book Fair in
the Grand Ballroom of the Marriott. During the afternoon, we will take
a break for the Miniature Book Auction which will also be held in the
Grand Ballroom. This way, prospective bidders will have an opportunity
to examine the lots before the auction while they attend the Book Fair.
If you wish to be an exhibitor, the cost of a table is $15.00, and two
or more people may share a table if they so wish. If you make your needs
known, setting up and breaking down will be taken care of for you. You
may make these wishes known on your enclosed registration form.
The third (and last!) item enclosed for you is a form for you to
submit with any minature books you wish to donate for the MBS auction.
We now solicit your donations of miniature books or any other
appropriate related material for sale at the auction, from which we hope
to realize enough income to cover our operating expenses for the coming
year. So far we have managed to live within our budget thanks to the
Administrative fees we received along with some additional generous support
from a few of our members. In view of rising costs, increasing activity
and our growing membership and mailing needs, the Board decided as of
the first of the year to increase the Administrative Fee to $10.00.
This applies only to new applications for membership received after January,
1984. The proceeds from the auction are intended to provide funds for
next year's budget.
