Kimono of purple silk printed with designs of flowers, birds and butterflies in purples, blues, tans, reds, etc. Detailing in gold embroidery. With five white "mon" designs similar to a "yin-yang" shape of matched commas. Partly lined in red silk.

Note:

This piece has been described as a 5-mon furusode, which would be considered a very formal garment. The brilliance of the purple color, the lively floral design, the length, and the presence of the 5 mon suggest that it may be a geisha or maiko dancing kimono.

The printed decoration is done in the Yuzen style dye technique.
