Description:

Headband of black felt. The hat is designed to fit across the top of the head, coming to a rounded point on left side, and with an enlarged circular end on the left which sits higher on the head. The headband is "peaked" along the length, adding height to wearer.

Marcelle Rousseau was the working name name of Texas milliner Mrs. J.C. Bird, who was born ca. 1876 in Tarrant County, and died in Dallas, Tuesday, June 8, 1948, at age 72. Her shop was closed for part of World War II, but reopened by March 1946.
