SEC(IQD EXHIBIT OF TEACHING MATERIALS
On July 10th, Mrs. Maydell Wallace Potter, reference librarian, gave
a very interesting and instructive demonstrated lecture on inexpensive
teaching aide before a group of librarians and teachers in the main read-
ing room of the library. This was the second lecture of the summer, the
first having been presented by Miss Lottie Brashears on June 26.
Pamphlets and similar materials selected for the' display centered
around the general theme of homemaking food, shelter* clothing, health,
personality development, child care and training, entertaining, etiquetteoto.
Teachers and librarians attending the meeting displayed keen interest
in both the lecture end the material on exhibit. Both groups were surprised
to find such excellent aide obtainable at so low a cost. To the librarians
and prospective librarians the occasion also demonstrated convincingly the
need for publicizing vertical file collections.,

(I only a few occasions has the editor of the Call Number had more
material than could be used for a particular issue~; most . f" the ehlas
been a dearth of materials, and so the editor at the last minute had to scurryaround in search of quotations and whatnot to fill up. This tlj. however,
two articles had to be omitted because the editor remembered that last fall
an index to volume 2 had been promised and this index, she found, took up
the space allotted to the articles which two of the samer students had so
kindly contributed. Apologies
