Riding Is not a required activity in any of the camps
of the study. It is a major activity, however, in twenty-
one of the northern and northeastern camps and in all of
the Texas oaaps of the study.
Seventeen of the respondents from the northern and
northeastern caiaps and all of the respondents from the Texas
tamps reported that recreation is the objective of the riding
program in the oa&ips. Hone of the respondents reported that
instruction is an. objective of the riding program* Five of
the respondent® in the northern and north east-em camps
reported that preparation for a horse show is an objective
of their riding glasses,
