in listening to others make proper tones* and efficient re-
education to direct the use of his speech mechanism# Correct
standards of speech were presented and he was guided through

aside two regular scheduled periods a day to be used for
speeoh training* He cane to the school early twice a week
for lessons* Materials and equipment were kept in a special
hex and were not brought out except fur the instruction
period* At hone he was given refreshments at the close of
the period# At school there was a surprise for him#
fhe parents were frank with the specialist concerning
their treatment 6f him. They were directed to treat him as
a child, and told that his experiential 'background aiade it
impossible for him to make adult solutions to his problems* ■
