New units at the American Oil Com-
pany Yorktown plant have accounted
for the absence of MORRIS MASON and
GENE STONEBURNER of our Technical
Service Division.
And speaking of new units, on the
home front there are several proud papas
in the R and D Department. BOB BIN-
NING, TOM DAVENPORT, and ELBERT
DONSBACH. Oops, one more to add
STEWART HAYNES also.

in applied thermodynamics the weeks of
February 18 and March 18, and Professor
F. G. Bordwell, Northwestern University,

organic sulfur compounds beginning
March 4.
W. B. FRANKLIN recently addressed the
senior chemical engineering students at
Texas University on "The Oil Industry-
past, present and future".
R. F. Pfennig gave three talks to 9th
grade students at Horace Mann Junior
High School on "Careers in Chemistry
and Chemical Engineering"; during the
vocational guidance program at the three
junior high schools in Baytown a total of
thirteen talks were made by Baytown
Refinery personnel, and a tour of the
laboratories was provided for 23 Baytown
Junior High students and three of their
teachers.

Oaks, one of Baytown's newest residen-
tial developments.
N. F. CHAMBERLAIN recently spent
more than a day at the local high school
showing "Our Mr. Sun" before approxi-
mately 1,000 science, math and engineer-
ing students and their teachers. Since the
maximum time that could be alloted for
each of the eight showings was an hour,
it was necessary for Nugent to present
historical material orally and begin the
film presentation about midway. The
color movie was obtained for this purpose
