[The District of Columbia appropriation act for fiscal year 1907, approved June 27, 1906 (Stat. L. v. 34,
pt. 1, p. 511) appropriated $100,000 for erection of the Tuberculosis Hospital for treatment of indigent
tuberculous patients. The hospital was opened July 1, 1908. Patients are admitted only on permits
from the Charities Board and reports are made to that board.]
